Oxfordshire Children and Voluntary Youth Services are holding an Oxfordshire Voluntary Children and Youth sector forum on March 24th 2011 at Bicester Courtyard Arts Centre from 10am-4pm.
In a tighter funding environment, with more demand for our services from children and young people its never been more important to ensure that our services meet the needs of children and young people.
The forum will bring together children and youth organisations across the county to share the ways that they measure the impact of their services on children, young people and families lives and look at new ways to record and measure outcomes for children and young people and how these can feed back into the way children or youth projects are managed.
By the end of the day, participants will:
- Be able to identify the key reasons why monitoring and evaluation is important in demonstrating their impact
- Learn from each other around developing ways of measuring impact
- Develop a plan for instigating monitoring and evaluation in their organisation
- Identify and overcome barriers to monitoring and evaluating impact
- Look at the culture change necessary in organisations to measure impact
- Identify key resources and support that will be able to support organisations in developing their knowledge around monitoring and evaluation

A 'at cost' charge has been made for this event to cover the costs of speakers and tea, coffee and refreshments. A very small number of bursaries are available to organisations most at need, please contact Alison Crawley directly for more information.

Oxfordshire Children and Voluntary Youth Services is an independent charitable organisation that supports voluntary and community organisations working with children and young people in Oxfordshire. We have a membership of well over 50 charities working with our county’s children , young people and families.
We help these charities to become better at what they do, by offering support, guidance, and training and representing the sector at a strategic level across the county. In turn, this helps us to create better services for our children and young people, giving them the opportunity to learn and thrive, supporting children and young people to have happy childhoods and improving their life chances.
We produce a monthly newsletter jam packed with the latest information about what’s happening in the children and youth sector, which includes information about training events and courses, careers in the sector, latest news in policy developments, funding opportunities and best practice across the sector. We also monitor the effectiveness of voluntary sector provision across the county and support organisations to meet identified needs.
We work strategically to ensure that the voluntary sector gets the recognition it deserves for delivering outstanding services to children and young people.
